Sonic Bayou Hosting, LLC was founded and is owned by Mendel Lee, a New Orleans-based composer.

In 2025, Mendel spearheaded a merger/acquisition of his organization nienteForte Contemporary Music into the nonprofit Versipel New Music and became its Executive Director. In looking for sustainable solutions to consolidate the various websites that he maintained for both personal and professional purposes, Mendel stumbled upon the domain reseller industry. This led to his mission: become a reseller to provide domain hosting and web design services for the arts at steeply discounted rates that prioritize people over profits.

As a sole-proprietor LLC passion project, Sonic Bayou’s low-profit objective is sustained by a carefully constructed business model and brand that cultivates trust and long-term relationships with its moderate client base. This trust is built upon Mendel’s foundational principles of creative integrity, transparency, and arts advocacy built into Sonic Bayou’s business, promising premium quality services, a no-AI pledge, and a focus to provide not only services but resources and education to empower arts individuals and organizations to have as much agency as possible to meaningfully partake in Sonic Bayou’s services or any other domain host/web design business in the industry.
